This month, the annual “Seahawks Take Flight” campaign is taking place, a yearly fundraiser to boost the capabilities and resources of the Salve Regina athletic department.
The 2024 campaign kicked off this Sept. 27 and will run through Friday, Oct. 17. With 474 gifts already being given, totaling $32,752 in less than one week, now is the time to give to Salve Athletics and see that number climb!
From the campaign itself: “Every gift makes an impact. Your contribution helps provide our athletes with the necessary equipment, travel, support, and training opportunities to compete at their best. Whether you’re cheering from home, on the fields, or at the courts your generosity empowers our student-athletes to perform both on and off the field.”
Seahawk athletics is now in its second season as an institutional member of the New England Women and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), arguably the most prestigious academic and athletic conference in all of Division Three. Multiple sports teams showed impressive success in year one. Football went 9-2 overall, 6-1 in the conference, and finished their impressive 2023 campaign with a New England Bowl victory over Anna Maria on November 18th. Baseball went 40-10 overall, 13-3 in the conference, and made yet another deep NCAA tournament run, losing in the NCAA Division Three Baseball World Series Final Four, in Eastlake, Ohio. Field Hockey is currently leading the pack for this current 2024 fall season, as the team is 9-1 overall, with a 2-1 conference record.
Let’s help continue the recent and future success of our Salve athletics for the rest of the 2024-2025 campaigns, as well as for years down the road. Seahawks athletics has shown its ability to compete against the top competition with the Division Three ranks, and assistance during this campaign will help make those continued strides a consistent reality.
