What’s happening on campus the next couple of weeks?

Thursday, Nov. 9

Career Networking Dinner, sponsored by the Student Alumni Association, will be held at 6 p.m. in the Ochre Court state dining room.

Friday, Nov. 10

Today is Veteran’s Day. University offices will be open and all classes will meet.

Today is the final day for students who intend to graduate in May to submit File for Degree forms to the Office of the Registrar.

Today is the deadline to R.S.V.P. to help in providing Thanksgiving baskets for St. Vincent’s Home. Call Ext. 2444 for more information.

“Talladega Nights” will be shown at 7 and 9 p.m. in the Wakehurst little theater.

Saturday, Nov. 11

Freshmen: Look in your “Free Stuff” booklet for a coupon redeemable today for breakfast at Gary’s Handy Lunch, located at 462 Thames St. in Newport.

The Campus Activities Board will sponsor to see a Bruins hockey game today, departing campus at 3 p.m. and returning at 11 p.m. The cost is $10 and students can register in the Office of Student Activities.

Sunday, Nov. 12

Freshmen: Look in your “Free Stuff” booklet for a coupon redeemable today for breakfast at Gary’s Handy Lunch, located at 462 Thames St. in Newport.

The Office of Admissions will host its fall open house from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will have the opportunity to meet Salve Regina faculty and current students, learn about academic programs and majors, explore the residence halls and academic buildings, speak with coaches and student athletes and learn about student-run clubs and organizations. Monday, Nov. 13

Registration for the spring 2007 semester will begin today and run through Tuesday, Nov. 21.

The Student Government Association will hold its weekly meeting at 8:45 p.m. in Wakehurst 101. The meeting is open to the university community.

Wednesday, Nov. 8 to Wednesday, Dec. 10

“Through the Eyes of a Soldier” art exhibit, featuring World War II photography by Dr. Michael Dimaio, will be on display in the University Gallery. An opening reception for the exhibit will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8.

Monday, Nov. 13

Language Lunch (Europe), 11:45 a.m.-1:15 p.m., Miley Cafeteria

For those who dine in Miley today, come join international students, mentors and others as they share their experiences abroad in a variety of European countries.

Panel Discussion and Cooking Demonstration, 6-9 p.m., Young Building

The evening will begin with a panel discussion about the impact of studying abroad, followed by a small international cooking demonstration/tasting by Lisa Kotlen, International Programs Office Secretary. R.S.V.P.s are mandatory for this event as planning is needed for the cooking demonstration. Please contact Lisa at Ext. 2372.
