Shop around and look at the price tag. Little differences separate the $170 jackets from the $45 one. The four jackets that follow provide a glimpse into the array of raingear found in the store with varying prices.

FJord Jacket. Priced at $299.99, this is the ultimate ‘high-tech’ jacket found in the colors navy, red, and white. Equipped with a built in aqua pack, this jacket reins supreme. Not only will it protect against rain, but it will also come in handy when you get thirsty. Many pockets are on the jacket for extra storage. This jacket will be perfect for the serious outdoor enthusiast. If you are simply looking for raingear, this may be too over the top for you. This jacket best fits the person who would rather be outdoors than anywhere else.

Helly Tech XP jacket. Priced at $170, this jacket is lightweight. Dotty Goncalo, an assistant, recommended this style for its breathable and water-resistant qualities. These jackets come in an array of colors, including black, green, plaid, and orange. The most eye-catching one was the light blue Helly Tech XP found in the women’s section featuring flower designs along the front waistline and three pockets, two of which zippered under and along the inner arm.

Packable Jacket. Priced at $109, this jacket folds into an easy carrying bag. “This is the most popular item in the store, in both men and women sales,” Goncalo said. “It’s durable and the packaging is convenient.” Equipped with an adjustable hood, the jacket will cover every inch of your upper body for a Benjamin Franklin price tag.

Voss Jacket. Priced at $45, this jacket has a smooth, under-armour feel. If you are searching for rain gear to just get the job done, this is your pick. It is moderately priced and will not set you back a couple hundred of dollars. Above all, it is a comfortable fit.
