For those hungry college students working off of a budget this holiday season, Diego’s, “an atypical Mexican gourmet restaurant,” is most certainly the find of the season. Located at 11 Bowen’s Wharf, right on Newport’s historic sea front, Diego’s offers both patio and indoor dining options. Set away from the bustle of town, Diego’s atmosphere is serene and relaxing. Whether you come to unwind with your closest amigos, or even for a romantic evening with that special someone, there is a taste for everyone at Diego’s.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of appetizers, salads, soups entrees, and if you can find room for dessert, Diego’s has it all. Their focus is “fresh ingredients, homemade sauces, and bold flavors with a heavy influence on seafood.” Adding to such a selection, you can even make your own burrito, soft shell taco, quesadilla or full plate. Open Mondays through Wednesdays from 11 a.m. until midnight and Thursdays through Sundays from 2 p.m. until 2 a.m., don’t miss out on such affordable prices and great deals.
“Mexican Pizza Night,” is offered every Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 12 a.m. For only $10 per person, Diego’s offers all you can eat pizza. Assorted pizza’s also come with chips and salsa, and salad on the side. Nonetheless, every Thursday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m., Diego’s offers “$2 Taco Night.” For $1 more you can upgrade from beef to chicken, steak, pork, or fish. Also, seven days a week, Diego’s offers $8 “Lunch Box specials.” This includes, an entrée with chips and salsa, as well as, a soda.
