Newport, R.I. – The Salve Regina University chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) needs your help. In an effort to increase the number of registered organ donors within the United States, the Salve AMA members have joined together with over 250 other collegiate AMA chapters throughout the nation to support a two-year, government funded project known as AMA Saves Lives.
There are currently more than 105,000 men, women and children awaiting a lifesaving organ transplant, with a new name added to the national organ transplant waiting list every 11 minutes. What’s worse, an average of 19 people die each day from the lack of available organ for transplant. The good news, however, is that it only takes one donor to save up to eight lives. As part of the AMA Saves Lives initiative, the Salve Regina chapter of AMA has created a viral campaign in hopes of reaching as many people as possible. The goal is to teach people about the benefit of organ donation through the use of online medias such as e-mail, Facebook and YouTube, where AMA members throughout the nation are posting their personal videos in hopes of winning one of several video awards. If you are interested in becoming an organ donor, go to http://www.amasaveslives.comto sign up. Even if you are already an organ donor, visit the website anyway to see what we are doing. The Salve Regina chapter can win a number of competitions including best videos, number of videos submitted, best AMA organ donor events and number of organ donors registered, so your contribution will not only help to save lives, but will also help the members of Salve’s AMA chapter as well. So that the Salve chapter can receive credit for their efforts, please be sure to note Salve Regina University as how you heard about the project. Why not take this incredible opportunity to save someone’s life?
