Comedian Rachel Feinstein has a sassy mom she compares to singer Vanilla Ice and a grandmother she pokes fun at. Feinstein also imitates singer Amy Winehouse and the reality TV series “The Kardashians” in various skits, available on Feinstein’s website. Salve students will have the chance to see Feinstein live at the CAB Comedy show, On Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 8 p.m in Bazarsky Lecture Hall.
“She does a lot of impressions with family material, her mom and grandma,” said Ian Arougheti, talent agent for Paradigm Talent Agency. He also added she has a Latin aspect to her material which she often uses in her comedy routines. He said that he is not sure what she will address in her show at Salve, for she varies her act up minute to minute. This is all the more reason to come see the show yourself.
“I would advise students to attend the show because it will be a fun way to spend a Tuesday night,” said Jim Hughes, a senior and CAB member. “It’s a great way to relax, hang out with friends, and enjoy a great comedian. Also it’s a great way to take an hour off from busy lives.”
Hughes helped select Feinstein for the comedy show. He said selecting a comedian is a long process. “We research many comedians and bring those names to the committee meeting,” said Hughes. “We go through and research every comedian by watching their previous shows, and mostly getting references from colleges they previously performed at.”
Hughes said Feinstein was previously on “Last Comic Standing”, “Comics Unleashed,” “Just For Laughs” on TBS and on other Comedy Central stand up shows.
According to Feinstein’s website, she has also written for “The Onion” and “Heeb Magazine.” Rachel has voiced characters on several shows, including Adult Swim’s “Venture Brothers” and the animated Comedy Central web series, “Samurai Love God.” She will also be in the upcoming independent films “Circus Maximus” and “Turbo Charge.”
