Are you a Salve student who loves a good time, but still likes to conserve funds in doing so? Well luckily for you, discounts and great deals lie at our fingertips.
Everyone is guilty of peeping into the windows of trendy boutiques on Thames Street and savory little surrounding restaurants. Perhaps you are also guilty of not entering because of the price? If you’re daydreaming about that sassy satchel and steamy hot cup of soup, you need not do that any longer.
Francesca’s Boutique, located at 15 Long Wharf Mall is one of the many stores that offer Salve students discounts. Ladies, you are probably loving that new coral Dolman chiffon dress and tri-color clutch that matches it, right? Well you are going to love it even more when you learn that Francesca’s is offering 10 percent off of your purchase (non-sale items) with the flash of your student ID. Just imagine the variations of jewelry and handbags that you could already have had you known about their price adjustments for Salve.
Missing that frozen yogurt bar from your hometown mall? Well head on down to Orange Leaf at 198 Thames and experience some great Newport frozen yogurt. Orange Leaf offers over sixty amazing flavors ($0.49 an ounce) such as; Wedding Cake, Green Apple and Pumpkin Pie. Yum! Not to mention the toppings; from fresh fruit to popping bubbles, it’s worth making a trip down the road. Orange Leaf takes 5 percent off with your ID and you can get an “ounce back” free card which deducts $1 off every $10 that you spend; isn’t that simply fascinating?
It is definitely understood that one could become a little weary of eating Miley food. You are most likely missing all of the little neat joints in your neighborhoods and your local hang out spots. You do have the option however of trading in mash potatoes and meatloaf for a spicy Italian sandwich at Subway. Additionally the Subway on Thames offers students the luxury of paying with their student ID. Using money that is already allocated on your card, rather than money out of your pocket definitely seems like a great idea, especially now that laundry is free on campus.
Empire Tea and Coffee, at 22 Broadway as well as People’s Cafe at 282 Thames are also allowing students to make purchases with their IDs. The short trolley ride or walk is encouraged if you want to experience the taste of refreshing bubble tea or smoked salmon on a bagel in a fun yet studious environment.
Island Persuit located at 364 Thames is also providing Salve students with a discount when they purchase a pair of TOMS. Not only will you receive 5 percent off when you buy a pair of these shoes, but you will also be helping a child in need. This is definitely an offer you cannot pass up and will bring you some good in return! .
Alex and Ani bangles are a huge trend here in Newport and are spreading to various states. Girls, since you are here in Newport you must visit the Alex and Ani store that is located at 1 Bowens Wharf, across from People’s Café. It will be worth the venture, as Alex and Ani offers 10 percent off of your purchase. As you are aware most bangles are in the $28 range so this discount is a big help.
Various other boutiques and hot spots offer Salve students discounts and great deals as well. I would recommend everyone taking serious advantage of everything Newport has to offer. Hopefully these dynamic downtown discounts will help us Salve students financially and allow us to take full advantage of shopping this year!
