Every year, the Academy Awards recognizes the best in the world of cinema. For most diehard film lovers, the Oscars are a must-see. This year, Salve Regina’s own self-proclaimed cinephiles invite students to watch the ceremony in luxury.
On Sunday, February 26, Film Club will be hosting a viewing party for the 88th annual Academy Awards. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the DiStefano Lecture Hall in Antone. The ceremony, hosted by Chris Rock, will be broadcasted on the big screen.
In honor of the event being held in California this year, attendees will enjoy a sampling of, “authentic Los Angeles Chinese Cuisine and sparkling cider,” (according to their poster). There will also be classic movie snacks like popcorn and candy. In addition to the food and entertainment, an online poll will be sent to attendees so they can vote for who they think will win the Oscar.
