From Vanessa Scott, Public Relations Coordinator, SRU Dance Club:
Salve Regina University’s student-run dance organization, the SRU Dance Club will be presenting its fall performance, “Vibes,” on November 17th and 18th in the Rodgers Recreation Center. “Vibes” will consist of 23 dances with styles including, Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, and Irish Step and also a finale number where all the members of the club will close the show. The club consists of over 170 performers, making the SRU Dance Club the largest student-run organization on campus.
Performances will be held Friday, November 17th at 7:00 pm and Saturday, November 18th at 1:00 pm. Friday’s show will have an admission price of at least a $1.00 donation to the Andrea Rizzo Foundation, and Saturday’s show will have an admission of $5.00.
As previously specified, funds raised the opening night of “Vibes” will go to support the Andrea Rizzo Foundation. This is a long-standing tradition that the SRU Dance Club is happy and honored to uphold. Andrea Rizzo was a Salve Regina graduate, who was tragically killed by a drunk driver at the age of 24. The foundation raises money for children’s cancer research through dance therapy programs. SRU Dance Club continues to help the Andrea Rizzo Foundation in every way it can.
