It’s Christmas Time in Newport Mansions!
Imagine strolling down Bellevue Avenue on a late November night – the snow peacefully falling, the sky a crystal dark blue. The Mansions are magnificently adorned for the holidays, complete with garlanded trees and white Christmas lights sparkling through frosty glass panes. Your mind naturally wonders, “They are so beautiful outside, I wonder what they look like inside?” Well, the time is here and you won’t have to wonder anymore.
The Breakers, The Elms, and Marble House are opening their holly-trimmed doors to Newport during this holiday season. Stop by and experience the splendor of Christmas. The mansions will be prepared as they were in the Gilded Age, with fresh flowers, thousands of poinsettia plants, and dining tables set with period silver and mannequins dressed in authentic costumes, much like the outfits party-goers might have worn back in the day.
Christmas at the Newport Mansions will run from November 15, 2003 until January 4, 2004. During this time, various activities will be held at the three participating mansions, such as “Holiday Evenings at The Breakers,” which will be held on Saturdays from 6pm-8pm.
Prices vary depending on the event. Visit www.newportmansions.org for more information or call (401) 847-1000.
“The Matrix III: Revolutions”
“If it’s not broke, don’t fix it.” Warner Bros. Studio is listening to this age-old saying and giving America what America seems to love, sticking with the themes and characters that viewers were introduced to in the original “Matrix.”
Originally scheduled to be released in theaters on November 7, 2003, the release date has been bumped up by two days and will now be released in theaters on November 5, 2003. Warner Bros. is planning on releasing the movie world-wide at exactly the same instant on November 5, allowing movie-goers all over the nation the ability to see the debut at the same time. Yahoo! Movies explains, “For example, the movie will open at 6am in Los Angeles, 7am in Denver, 8am in Chicago, 9am in New York, 2pm in London, 5pm in Moscow and 11pm in Tokyo.”
The film, which stars Keanu Reeves, is rated R for science-fiction content and brief sexual content. Visit www.thematrix.com for more details, pictures, and movie clips.
