It is 8 months before Patricia Medeiros is getting married. She, like countless other brides, wants everything to be perfect: the flowers, the cake, the photographer, and of course the dress.
It takes a lot of preparation to have the ideal wedding, and attending a bridal show may just do the trick. A bridal show is the perfect place for brides-to-be to begin the process of planning their weddings.
Bridal shows are a one-stop way to communicate with various businesses in the wedding industry, including anything from caterers and DJs, to bridal fashions and photographers. Many future brides will be attending such a show, the Newport Wedding Exposition, appropriately being held on Saturday, February 14: Valentine’s Day.
Timeless Imagery, a photography studio located on Main Street in Pawtucket, is one of the many vendors at the exposition, which will take place at the Hotel Viking in Newport. “Choosing a photographer is one of the most important decisions a bride and groom can make,” said photographer Paul Laurence of Timeless Imagery. “I think bridal shows are a great way for businesses to show what they’re all about and to get your name recognized.”
Laurence also mentioned the fact that being able to talk face to face with potential customers is great. “It is absolutely key to acquire and maintain good relationships with potential and existing customers,” Laurence said. Customer relationships are sometimes even better than advertising, especially when dealing with word of mouth.
Bridal shows have long been the premiere place for future brides and their families and friends to search for the ideal caterer, ultimate DJ, or that most important perfect dress. A valuable event taking place at the Newport Bridal Exposition will be the fashion show, featuring professional models modeling dresses for the bride, bridesmaids, flower girls, and mother-of-the bride. During the fashion show, popular bands and musicians will also perform for the audience to hear and possibly hire.
“The bridal show is always a big hit, and I’m predicting it will be again this year,” said Laurence of Timeless Imagery. “It (the bridal exposition) gets bigger and better every year.”
So as Patricia Medeiros’ wedding draws closer and the dresses are picked out, the florist is chosen, and the photographer and DJ are selected, she feels she will be much more at ease and will be able to enjoy the time leading up to the actual wedding.
“Planning a wedding is the most stressful thing I’ve ever done,” states Medeiros, “and then it will be over so quickly.”
Brides-to-be can pre-register now, for the upcoming show and save some time the day of the exposition. More information about the bridal exposition can be obtained through a phone number set up for the event, 1-866-NPT-EXPO, or by contacting the Hotel Viking.
