Musican Jay Hansen is coming to Salve.
Jay Hansen, a nationally known singer and songwriter, will perform at Salve in the Wakehurst Commuter Lounge on Wednesday, February 11, at 8:00 p.m. Hansen’s music has appeared on Dawson’s Creek and on various MTV programs.
Brandon Gavin, who helped arranged this performance for the campus activities board, says, “We (CAB) are really excited to have him come to campus. He is quickly becoming a star on the college music scene.” He adds that many students can relate to Hansen’s music because he is “young, energetic, and passionate.” Christine Girouard, CAB’s marketing and public relations director, says that local fans describe Hansen’s music similar to Dave Matthews. She hopes that Hansen’s performance will add to the great success of CAB’s Coffee House Series. In a press release, Hansen describes his style of music to feature blends of rock, reggae, funk, rap, and hip-hop. He enjoys performing because people can relate their lives and experiences to his music. He is hoping that his new album, “Turn,” will take his career to the next level. Some of the songs that Hansen will perform are available on CD at www.jhmovement.com.
