It’s the day before Valentine’s Day, cupid is flying about overhead, love songs are blaring around every corner, and the smell of chocolate is wafting through the air. What better way to get you in the mood for this wonderful day then by having a handful of talented singers not only sing to you but serve you dinner. Sound too good to be true? Well its not!
On Friday, Feb. 13, is the Cabaret dinner hosted by Salve’s own Madrigals. The evening begins at 7 p.m. in the States Room in Ochre Court, tickets are 25 dollars for adults and 15 dollars for students on the meal plan and children under 10.
During the course of your evening you will enjoy the musical vocals of some of Salve’s finest musicians singing songs ranging from classical jazz and musical theater to original songs written by several of the students. Jose DeVel, a new edition to Campus Ministry team, will be singing songs from his country Argentina in his native tongue.
While enjoying the music you will also be enjoying a fantastic cuisine served by the Madrigals inbetween performances. Guests at this event have a choice from three delicious entrees: Chicken Florentine with wild rice, Baked Stuffed Sole with Lobster Sauce or Vegetable Lasagna (all entrees come with Radicchio, Watercress and Romaine Lettuce laced with Honey Vinaigrette as well as sides of Wild Rice and Fresh Asparagus). After and during your meal you can also request coffee and tea.
All proceeds from this event go towards the Madrigal Concert Fund that helps send our gifted artists to countries such as Ireland, where they most recently came back from this winter break. So come out and enjoy being serenaded while you eat and support your friends, family and more importantly your Salve Community!
