Leaves
Don’t even lie, you’re not a real human if you can’t admit to going a few steps out of the way to stomp on an extra crunchy-looking leaf in the fall. Also, Newport is known for having an insane variety of trees, so us Salve students have a million times the leaf-crunching opportunities compared to people on other campus’. Appreciate.
The Cliff Walk
Take advantage of these weekday mornings and afternoons where it is beautiful outside, and the cliff walk isn’t mobbed with tourists! Also, if you’re lucky, your professors just might decide to have class on the lawn of McAuley or even on the cliff walk itself. I’m looking at you, Dr. Habib.
Fall weather in general:
You can cuddle up under a blanket without coming down with heatstroke!
Pumpkins
It’s October, people! Pumpkin carving with friends is the perfect opportunity to have a fun time and make some cute dorm-decs that will last the month.
Apple Picking
There are so many picture perfect farms and orchards in Newport and Middletown to go apple or pumpkin picking. Take advantage of this while the weather is nice and the fruit is ripe!
Baking
After you go apple picking, break out your inner Pinterest addict and bake something that will make your whole dorm building smell like cinnamon, spice, and everything nice. Another perk of this is obviously eating all of what you make in a span of 3 days even though its 32-servings-worth.
Sports Games
It’s football season! Grab a Chai Latte and go support the team.
Flannels… and boots…
Okay, fall clothes in general. They’re cute and cozy and warm and really just everything a girl needs to be content in life.
