Every January as winter deepened, Kyle Harris fell into a slump. He felt tired, worn down, and alone most of the time. In the morning he would struggle to get out of bed and brew his morning coffee, and would often return to bed in the afternoon. Most people find winter dreary, but this was something more serious than simply the winter blues.
The Relay for Life, a 24-hour walk-a-thon event, is the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraiser. The Circle K club at Salve Regina will be hosting the 3rd annual Relay at Salve Regina from 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, for the full 24 hours on the Wakehurst Student Center grounds.
College basketball has become quite the contradiction. The steadily diminishing talent level is killing the game, but it’s making the NCAA tournament a bigger, more enticing event than ever before. The drama of the first four days of the tournament makes the agonizing boredom of the four months of the regular season a little more palatable.
Chris Hedges, Pulitzer Prize winning war correspondent to the New York Times, will be speaking as part of the Atwood Lecture series at O’Hare Wednesday, March 24. Hedges will be lecturing on the topic, “Is There Such a Thing as a Just War?”
