The Model United Nations club attended a conference at Mt. Holyoke College to run various UN simulations on March 4-7.
Four Salve students have been selected to compete among the final eight teams at the annual collegiate conference in New Orleans in the American Marketing Association’s annual case competition. Juniors Meagan Shaw and Kristin DeVeault and seniors Alicia Pensarosa and Jamie Greene are the team members.
The Mission Statement of Salve Regina University declares that the institution “prepares men and women for responsible lives by imparting and expanding knowledge, developing skills and cultivating enduring values.” Recently, Jenny Bladykas and her fellow VIA program members decided that the university’s mission must include the expansion of Salve students’ knowledge of women’s issues.
Alyx Kellington, a well known photographer and public speaker will be giving a lecture at Salve on March 16 at 7 p.m. in the Rogers rec center. The lecture, sponsored by the Mosaic, is titled: “The Role of the Media: Exploitation or Education?”
The lecture deals with Kellington’s exploration of the role of the media and its responsibilities.
