Stephanie Turaj, 2011

Editor-in-Chief

English Communications major, Political Science minor

A normal person would shudder at the mere mention of being the editor-in-chief of both the Mosaic and the Willow Literary Magazine. Stephanie, or “Steph-Steph” to her close friends, handles the jobs gracefully-although she may trip over the front step of her house along the way. However, she shakes it off with her infectious giggle

Steph not only handles the editorship of two campus publications; she holds membership in the Environmental Club, College Democrats, Political Science Club, English Guild, and is involved with the founding of Love146. She is the work-study student for the English department, and is often found making photocopies and remembering passwords.

When she is not being pulled in 15 different directions, you can find Steph casually riding her bike around campus while listening to a cornucopia of artists on her iPod, usually on the way to visit her buddy Shirley Rose in Wakehurst. If you’re looking to win her over, any sort of Hello Kitty or leopard print gear, or a Starbucks gift card, are sure to please.

Kaitlyn Boisvert, 2013

Managing Editor

English Communications major

While at first Kaitlyn may seem soft spoken, she in fact is a bundle of laughter. Even her roommate would call her poised, but with a great sense of humor, and always laughing. Why does she love being involved with Mosaic? In addition to stretching her creativity and bringing her out of her comfort zone, “The online stories make my name appear in Google,” she said “Not that I Google myself or anything.”

Even in her tastes in music and movies, Kaitlyn has a sense of humor. She claims to have seen Anchorman 1,000,001 times, but still finds the movie funny. She would also love to be Christina Aguilera for a day because, “It would be great to be able to actually sing without cracking windows or having people around me shriek in pain,” she said.

Kaitlyn is, however, a busy girl. In addition to her involvement with Mosaic, she is also a member of Stage Fright, the English Guild, and The Willow. She enjoys reading and writing, spending time with her housemates, and yes, and making silly Facebook pages for her pets.

Devon Cormier, 2011

Entertainment Editor

Psychology major, Anthropology minor

A lover of music, you might see Devon performing at Salve’s next open mic night. She plays guitar and sings in her spare time, and even writes and composes her own music. While she can’t pick just one favorite musical artist, her current playlist is filled with Iron and Wine music.

Devon also enjoys taking pictures with her camera, which she usually carries with her. Devon is a free spirit, who wants to spend her future traveling and writing about social issues in other places. She loves learning about other cultures and exploring new places. Her creativity and free spirit shows in her Mosaic work, as she enjoys how Mosaic has given her the chance to express her own style and creativity. Maybe someday she can follow in the footsteps of the character William Miller from her favorite movie, “Almost Famous”, and land a job with Rolling Stone Magazine interviewing rock bands. With her passion for music and her creativity, it won’t be long.

Mary Grace Donaldson, 2011

Campus News Editor

English Communications/Religious and

Theological Studies major

If you see someone on campus obsessively checking her Blackberry, holding a Starbucks cup, and freaking out over the mere mention of Lady Gaga’s name- that’s probably Gracie.

Or in other words, if you see someone who is insanely busy- involved in the Mercy Center as a Mercy in Motion Student Leader, is an SGA senator, is public relations officer for the English Guild, involved in Love146, Madrigals and University Chorus, chapel choir, and three honors societies- that’s Gracie.

Yet she still finds time to spend time with her close friends, put her Savior first, and obsess over a myriad of pop culture phenomena- including but not limited to Lady Gaga. She’s devoted to watching “House, MD,” claims Rachel Berry from “Glee” as her alter ego, and loves the Beatles and Bruce Springsteen. She also is always sending out emails.

In her future, Gracie hopes to be a columnist for the Long Island Catholic, a Catholic newspaper in her hometown.

Vita Duva, 2012

Sports Editor

English Communications major, Film Studies minor

Vita’s name means “life”. The name fits, because she appears to be living life to the fullest, with hobbies ranging from horseback riding, to softball, to photography, to gardening. Vita’s close friend Tracy Howard describes Vita as, “A self-motivated, determined young woman who achieves whatever goals she sets forth for herself. A loyal and understanding friend.”

Vita has a close connection with her family and her past- always carrying around a piece of vintage jewelry either from her mother or her grandmother. She would love to visit Castelpetroso, which is a commune in the Province of Isernia, in the Italian region of Molise. It is the homeland of her ancestors, she said.

On a Friday night, Vita will be, “having a good time with my girls.” She also has fond memories of last year’s Halloween Dance. Just like her name suggests, Vita is filled with a love and appreciation of life and its beauty.

Emily Ferro, 2012

Photography/Web Editor

English Communications and Literature major

Emily is abroad in Oxford, England for the semester, and she’s surely missed. After all, Emily is Mosaic’s true patron of the arts. As a lover of all things English, a dancer, a photographer, and an artist, she does it all. Known to some as “Trendy,” she throws herself into her crafts as a choreographer for SRU Dance and as the assistant photography editor for the Willow, in addition to her work on the Mosaic, which “allows her to do what she loves with a great group of people.”

As a lover of people, music and pictures, Emily is never without her cell phone, her camera, or her iPod, which usually features music by the group Passenger. When she is not participating in some artsy sort of activity, she is incessantly rambling with her friends, watching a movie, or fantasizing about being Helena Bonham Carter, and always decked out in a snazzy outfit.

Kelsey Murray, 2012,

Campus News Editor

English Communications major, Film Studies minor

Kelsey is a mix of a little bit of everything. Outgoing and funny, Kelsey enjoys going out to dinner and to the movies, but also likes to sit in and watch her favorite TV shows, “24” and “Lie To Me.

Someday hoping to be a journalist for a popular woman’s magazine living in NYC, but also hoping to travel to Europe, especially France, Kelsey is always prepared with her Blackberry, her wallet and a chap-stick.

In addition to Mosaic, she is also a lacrosse player, and a member of the American Marketing Association.
