Students will be able to participate in numerous games such as Roulette at the annual Casino Night.
As a part of the Student Activity Board’s Late Night Wakehurst weekend events, Casino Night is back, bigger then ever. The annual event will take place in Salve Regina’s Ochre Court on February 26, 2010 at 8 p.m.
This year Casino Night will take place in a new venue explains Bart Carithers, head of the Student Activities. “This year we are moving it over to Ochre Court because there is a lot more space,” Carithers said. “In the past we have done it in Wakehurst and O’Hare and it’s just really cramped.” The new location will accommodate more students and a wider range of gaming tables. The night will consist of many different games. “We have a variety of gaming tables, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette and a bunch of Poker tables,” Carithers said. After a night of gaming, students will be able to grab some breakfast as a new addition this year. Immediately following the event, there will be a midnight breakfast for all attendees. Casino Night is one of the most popular events. “Last year we had 250 to 300 students attend,” Carithers said. Many students gather for a night of fun and excitement, like at CAB’s other Late Night event, Monster Bingo. At both events, students have the chance to win great prizes while enjoying themselves with friends and fellow classmates. The Student Activities Board is a volunteer student organization that supports the mission of Salve Regina University and the needs of its students by providing social, recreational and developmental programs. The board plans and implements a wide variety of programs. Carithers has building managers work the event and he is seeking additional volunteers.
