On February 27, Dr. D. Matthew Ramsey McKillop lead a lecture in the special collections room on the ground floor of McKillop Library The room was crowded with professors from the English department, student communication majors, and others interested in media.

This is far from my first time entering Sumo Sushi, in fact the top floor on upper Thames Street is a frequent stop for me and my friends. The scene is the same as it always is: delicate lighting from authentic Chinese lanterns and a clean and inviting atmosphere.

Jazzman’s Reusable Mug campaign is another step toward being green

Two weeks ago Jazzman’s Café and Salve’s environmental committee launched their Reusable Mug campaign. The mugs were suggested as a simple way to be more environmentally conscious around campus as well as to reduce coffee cup garbage.

Origins of an antique shop

Since 1993, Federico Santi and his partner, John Gacher, have owned and operated their antique shop, The Drawing Room, on Spring Street in the downtown area of Newport. Santi, who grew up on a desolate farm in Georgia, volunteered in VISTA just after college and after VISTA met a lot of acquaintances from the Boston area.

More than two weeks after a HVAC unit burst on the roof of the McKillop Library, intense clean-up efforts made by Salve facilities, housekeeping crews, library staff members, students and a professional disaster management company have helped to save over 200 books and to prevent further damage from mold.
