The editorial written by Ben Lieberman of The Heritage Foundation in the September 2007 issue of the Mosaic (Ozone: the hole story) deserves a rational response from someone within the Salve Regina University. As an environmental scientist I feel compelled to separate fact from fiction.

The Salve community felt the effects of Hurricane Noel last weekend as windows shook and tree branches fell across wet roads. Power lines were down and the Mount Hope Bridge was closed, but inside of Ochre Court voices sang in harmony and heads turned in unison with the flipping of music book pages.

The women’s basketball team took advantage of their home court in the first double header of the season at Rogers Recreation Center. The lady Seahawks topped Johnson and Wales University 81-60 in the first game of the night while the men dropped a 66-60 decision to the visitors in the second game.

The holidays are here and college students will soon return home for a winter break. What’s on the wish list this year?

Both adults and kids are going nuts for Nintendo Wii. Guys want cool gadgets from Best Buy and young women want the usual- Louis Vuitton, clothing gift certificates, and hot holiday winter boots.
