Governor’s Ball Raises Over $330,000

NEWPORT, RI – This year marked the 30th anniversary of the annual Governor’s Ball, held at Salve Regina University, and raised over $333,600 to benefit the student scholarship fund, on Saturday, Dec. 2.

Upon entrance into Ochre Court, guests were greeted by the sight of the mansion’s Christmas tree.

Time has just expired in the second period of Salve Regina’s Saturday night game against the nation’s 10th ranked team, the R.I.T. Tigers. The Seahawks find themselves down by a score of 5-0. Both of the teams are skating off the ice and heading towards the locker room after a hard fought 20 minutes of hockey.

The restaurant is off the beaten trail of busy Broadway but well worth the visit. La Balandra specializes in “comida Latina” (Latin American food) and the food is a testament to the name.
