NEWPORT, R.I. – The Mosaic, Salve Regina’s student newspaper, has announced its editorial staff for the 2006-2007 academic year.

Kerin Lazzaro ’07 and Jackie Sheridan ’07 have been selected as co-editors and will share oversight of both the paper and online editions.

Catholics across the country are being asked by the Vatican and other clergy to boycott the upcoming film version of “The Da Vinci Code” which is being released by Sony on May 19 at the Cannes film festival, and stars Tom Hanks and Audrey Tatou.

“The Da Vinci Code,” based on the novel by Dan Brown, is an international murder mystery whose focus lies in uncovering a secret about the life of Jesus Christ that the Opus Dei, a murderous, power hungry religious sect, has been trying to protect for centuries.

The Multicultural Student Organization (MSO) hosted its second annual Makeover Night on April 19 in the foyer at

Miley Hall.

After offering only manicures at last year’s event, this year’s group offered manicures, hair braids and twisties. Those working at the Makeover Night were students and MSO members.

In “Poseidon,” Josh Lucas plays the mysterious Dylan Johns, a lone-wolf, square-jawed, tough-talking card shark who reluctantly finds himself leading a band of survivors on a climb through a capsized cruise ship.

The journey is rife with peril, from cavernous elevator shafts and fiery explosions to water-filled escape routes.
