Multicultural Student Organization Sponsors Makeover Night

The Multicultural Student Organization (MSO) hosted its second annual Makeover Night on April 19 in the foyer at

Miley Hall.

After offering only manicures at last year’s event, this year’s group offered manicures, hair braids and twisties. Those working at the Makeover Night were students and MSO members.

In “Poseidon,” Josh Lucas plays the mysterious Dylan Johns, a lone-wolf, square-jawed, tough-talking card shark who reluctantly finds himself leading a band of survivors on a climb through a capsized cruise ship.

The journey is rife with peril, from cavernous elevator shafts and fiery explosions to water-filled escape routes.

Jazz Band Swings into spring at Ochre Court

The Great Hall of Ochre Court came alive with swing dancing and the strains of Duke Ellington Friday night as the Newport Community Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble took center stage for their spring concert.

“The music (made) me want to pirouette all over Ochre Court,” said Salve Regina sophomore Daryl Ward, who had come to watch her boyfriend play drums.

Last Fri., April 28, approximately 100 people spent a few hours of their afternoon in Bazarsky Hall for the panel discussion, “It’s More Than a Game: Exploring Opportunities in the Business of Sports”.

The event attracted students, faculty, local members of the community and prospective students.
