Salve’s Performing Arts Department to Present Production of ‘Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead’

This fall, Salve Regina University’s Performing Arts Department will present a comedic and unorthodox view of Shakespeare’s “Hamlet”, with Tom Stoppard’s “Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead.” Rehearsals for the show began over a month ago on Sept. 18, and a great deal of physical and emotional work has gone into its development; from the construction of a historically designed stage to the portrayal of a psychological experiment.

Comedian Rachel Feinstein has a sassy mom she compares to singer Vanilla Ice and a grandmother she pokes fun at. Feinstein also imitates singer Amy Winehouse and the reality TV series “The Kardashians” in various skits, available on Feinstein’s website. On Oct. 27, 2010 Dr. Bradizza, a political science and American government professor at Salve, gave a lecture titled “FDR vs. the founders”. Bradizza spoke about the original plans for government as set forth by the founders and the way Franklin Delanor Roosevelt’s New Deal and the ideas of the progressive era conflicted with these plans.
