On Feb. 3, 2009, Salve Regina’s Chapter of The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) presented the film, “Praying with Lior,” a documentary film about a young boy named Lior Liebling who has Down Syndrome and a strong faith.

“Praying with Lior” tells Lior’s story as he prepares for his Bar Mitzvah, the Jewish coming-of-age ceremony.

Resolutions for the year? How about for each day?

Ah, the beginning of a new year. A fresh start, a clean slate and a world full of blossoming opportunities stand right outside of your front door. Invigorating, isn’t it? I think so. However, it’s unfortunate that many people taint the endless optimism that should be associated with the New Year by making resolutions meant to correct some sort of personal flaw that they couldn’t tackle last year.

Rowling takes the fairy tale element of magic and kicks it up a notch in “The Tales of Beedle the Bard.” As translated by Potter fans’ beloved Hermione Granger, the tales were originally written in the fictional language of ancient Runes, which is perhaps equivalent to our translations of tales in ancient Greek.

Boooooom! The historic, years-old masterpiece buildings surrounding the

giant dirt pit off of Ochre Point Avenue quiver as the blast vibrates the

very foundation upon which they stand.

Previous to the earth quaking boom, piercing but harmless whistle warnings

braced onlookers, students, and faculty from the surrounding areas and

buildings.
