Celtics huddle during practice

The Boston Celtics had a lot to say during their training camp that was held here at Salve Regina Univeristy this past week.

The players have nothing but positive things to say about the upcoming season. They are hoping for another championship year.

“Being part of a championship team is legendary,” Eddie House said. According to House, winning the championship gave the team motivation. They are hoping to come back and do it again this year.

Doc Rivers said that the rookies are doing great. Everything is still new to them but they will catch up.

Brian Scalabrine had some advice to give to young basketball players. “Learn to play with your eyes,” he said. When asked how he felt to be a role model he said it is a joy but “every single person out there is a role model.”

As for being at Salve, the players say they have had good reception from the students. One of the new players explained how great it was to see the group of students waiting outside for practice to end.

Although they have headed back to Boston early, Doc Rivers says that Newport was great location for the camp.
