Seahawk Down Performance

by Mary Wright

Seahawk Down, although still a fairly new addition to Salve Regina University, has progressed leaps and bounds in the few years since its conception. Under the direction of Tom Gleadow and student director Mary Wright, the improv troupe is made up of students from all backgrounds and majors, providing a unique club environment for its members. Seahawk Down meets weekly working on all types of improvisational comedy including long form, short form, and everything else in between. Whether it be to alleviate the stress of finals week or just for the laughs, the troupe hosts free shows on campus each semester for their fellow students. Seahawk Down has been lucky enough to join several other extremely talented troupes in Boston for the “Comedy Beanpot Tournament” at Improv Boston, as well as a nation-wide improv competition at Improv Asylum. Seahawk Down will be performing during Fall Festival weekend, on Saturday, Sept.26, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. in the Megley Theatre, located in the Antone Center. They would like to encourage everyone to attend and promise to provide the audience with plenty of laughs.
