This flier was part of the re-election campaign put on by the SGA Executive Board.
Last Wednesday, almost 500 Salve students voted in the student government executive board elections, and the net result is that this year’s five-member board is returning for the 2004 – 2005 academic year. Mr. John Rok, vice president for student life, thinks that the Student Government Association (SGA) had a “very fine year in 2003 – 2004,” and he looks forward to another good year ahead.
Rok was pleased with the spirited competition among the candidates in the three contested races, he says, “Positive campaigning and open discussion makes everyone better.” He offers his congratulations to every student “who took the time to run and to place his/her name before their peers in the election process. That requires a degree of risk, trust, and commitment.” Public Relations Coordinator, Jessica Murphy, says, “The executive board has worked as a team throughout the past year,” and they have built a strong internal relationship. Murphy, who has worked on SGA for the past three years, adds that this year was the most productive year that she has participated in. She attributes this year’s success to the many senators who served on SGA this year. “Many senators took leading roles on our internal committees. They were enthusiastic and professional, traits which were very important for SGA’s success,” Murphy said. She hopes that many senators will run again for senate seats in September and return for next year.2004 – 2005 SGA Executive Board Election Results
