The English Department’s range of interests is flourishing in the form of student organizations this semester. After a brief hiatus, both the English Guild and the Willow Literary Journal have been revived, and are already proving to be incredibly successful ventures that offer many opportunities open to the entire student body at Salve.
The English Guild is now holding monthly meetings, and planning events. From movie nights to marathon readings, New York City trips and a party for Shakespeare’s birthday, the English Guild already has an impressive line-up of potential events. You do not have to be an English major to join – you must only have a passionate interest in literature and/or media studies! If you are interested in joining, please contact Sofia Dias (sofia.dias@salve.edu) or Tara Stanzione (tara.stanzione@salve.edu).
The Willow Literary Journal is currently accepting submissions of poetry, short prose, photography and artwork. There are no requirements, except that your creativity shines through! This is a great way to see your work in print. The Willow will publish the submissions it accepts in a hard copy of the journal. Please submit your writing or artwork at thewillowliteraryjournal.submittable.com
