Letter from the Editors: Mosaic Summer Hiatus

Welcome to the homepage of SRUMosaic, Salve Regina’s Student Newspaper. We are currently on a short hiatus  for the summer, but will begin posting new articles in the fall. We publish bi-weekly and our new issue always appears here on Mondays.

This past year, Mosaic has worked hard to increase our coverage, reach, and readership. We were able to take seven of our writers to the College Media Association Conference in New York City, during which we learned a lot and developed plans for next year. The Mosaic also brought Irin Carmon, a reporter for MSNBC, to Salve on International Women’s Day to speak about the Internet and the globalization of feminism. We have also branched out in our reporting and were able to cover breaking news about Salve. We also wrote about important topics such as diversity and sexual assault.

Next year, we will be working on even more features to make the newspaper better. This will include updates to our website and the addition of a brand new section.

In the mean-time, feel free to browse our articles. We’ve recently published many Newport restaurant reviews and stories about what to do in Newport for the summer. Also, be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. We post updates frequently during the year and you can find links to all of our social media in the sidebar.

If you are interested in joining our staff or have any questions about the paper, please contact the Co-Editors-in-Chief, Marrissa Ballard (marrissa.ballard@salve.edu) and Lily Jones (lilym.jones@salve.edu).
