Mosaic is pleased to announce that it is time once again for the editorial application process to begin.

Student writers are invited and encouraged to apply for editorial positions for the 2004-2005 school year. All editorial positions are open. You may apply for up to three positions although if elected you will only be placed in one.

Open positions include:

Co-Editor (2 openings)

Managing Editor

Graphic Designer

Campus News Editor

Campus Features Editor

National Editor

Opinion Editor

Entertainment Editor

Sports Editor

Religion Editor (newly added)

Diversity Editor (newly added)

(Upon request, a basic guideline for each position’s duties will be made available. Please email johnsone@salve.edu)

Please send a cover letter explaining which position or positions you would like to be considered for and outline what talents you would bring to the positions. When applying for more than one position, indicate the order of your job preferences (No. 1 choice, No. 2 choice etc.). If you have story clippings in your portfolio, please include two or three samples with your letter.

Letters of application are due in the Mosaic mailbox in Wakehurst by Wednesday, April 14.

Appointments will be announced Friday, April 30.

Along with the current Co-Editors and Mosaic advisor Dr. Harrington-Lueker, there will be a board of students and faculty helping to make the appointments.

Please consider that these positions require hours of dedication in researching, writing, layout production, posting online, and meeting as a staff. However if you are willing to put in the time and effort, your position on the college paper will give you experience and material for your portfolio and a competitive edge in the job market.

Thank you in advance for your applications, we look forward to the selection process.
