If you attended a recent O.A.R. concert, then you have already heard songs from the new Of A Revolution CD entitled “Stories of a Stranger.” The CD came out on Oct. 4 and the song “Love and Memories” is already being played on radio stations across the country.

“Stories of a Stranger” is filled with the classic cool O.A.R. sound of drums and horns and also offers some smooth and catchy songs that branch out from this sound. This latest disk offers something for everyone and every song contributes to the complete mix of pure, laid-back, feel-good music. The catchy melodies mix with smart lyrics and optimistic messages.

The first thing you hear on the disk is the sultry “Heard The World.” The smooth voice in this song is combined with catchy arrangements and relatable lyrics. It is hard not to smile when “Wonderful Day” begins to play. This song is just happy and fans of the band will be glad to hear the unique horn and drum pieces that contribute to their classic breezy island sound.

“The Stranger” offers a completely different feeling that is lighter and more lyric-based. Toby Lightman provides the background vocals on this song and her voice helps give it a completely different, but still familiar vibe.

“Lay Down” is perfect for relaxing with the same mellow beat that the band is known for and “Nasim Joon” is slower and more soulful and sweet.

“Love and Memories” is the perfect choice for the first single with a catchy chorus, optimistic vibe and a smooth and classic sound that is very cohesive.

This collection of songs can go anywhere from the beach to driving or just hanging out with friends. Even the song “52-50,” which is about a soldier at war, is meaningful without being depressing. If you are looking for a collection of songs with a cool and positive vibe to take you into the fall, you will not be disappointed by “Stories of a Stranger.”
