New Salve Service Opportunity: Bunny Play Group

By: Lindsay Martin | Staff Writer

What are you doing Wednesdays from 12:30pm to 1:30pm? If your answer is “nothing,” and you enjoy playing with animals, why not join the Bunny Play Group at Potter League for Animals in Middletown?!

After a year hiatus, Service Advocate Olivia McGowan ’23 recently reimplemented the program. This service opportunity offers a chance for you to earn your required community service hours while playing with bunnies! Studies have shown that interacting with animals has therapeutic and stress-relieving benefits, so you’ll be able to enjoy some time away from classes and return to campus feeling calm and refreshed. Bunnies also have such great personalities, so you can enjoy some much needed laughs.

As we approach the final quarter of this incredibly tumultuous and difficult year, some “pet therapy” is certainly what we all need right now. Plus, these bunnies are in need of socialization to become better adoption candidates, and that’s where we come in!

The Bunny Play Group takes place every Wednesday from now through the end of the semester, but if you’re unable to make it, maybe some of these pictures will help brighten your day.

There is a limit of 10 students per week, so make sure you reserve your spot on Salve’s community service site: https://salve.edu/community-service/service-opportunities. Hope to see you there!
