If one were in Wakehurst student center Friday evening, one would be surrounded by large crowds of students, as well as the echo of Christmas music festivities, part of the first annual “A Very Wakehurst Christmas.” The Office of Student Activities has been working very hard this year in coming up with new campus traditions, and what better way to bring students together during the holiday season than a celebration of Christmas cheer.

On Nov. 20 and Nov. 21, a packed audience watched SRU dance perform their fall performance, “Power Trip,” in Rodgers Recreation Center. The performance was named after the Kanye West song “Power,” which is the show’s opening dance.

There was certainly plenty of power and energy in the performance, made up of 27 dances ranging from hip-hop, Irish step, tap and jazz.

President Obama is trying to promote a view of his foreign policy by making an unexpected visit to U.S. military forces in Afghanistan. According to ABC News, the President’s arrival in Kabul marks one year and two days since 30,000 more U.S. troops were committed to Afghanistan in a counteroffensive surge posed by the Obama Administration against all Taliban and Al-Qaeda elements in the country.
