While hundreds of locals and tourists flock to downtown Newport for its annual celebration of Oktoberfest, few would have imagined such an event taking place on Salve property. But as of September, Salve officially became a wet campus. The promises of October could only mean one thing: let the German celebration of beer commence! .Within limits, of course.

Top hats, elaborate dresses, gore and torrents of laughter all wrapped up in Victorian elegance: this is the “Newport Murder Mystery.” Having satisfied all of Newport’s “mystery needs” since 1981, the Marley Bridges Theatre Company’s “Newport Murder Mystery” intends to baffle crowds once again, but this time, at the Stanford White Casino Theater on Oct.

In a theatre surrounded by white walls with gold carvings, several balconies, red carpeting and wooden floors, dancers dressed in costumes of wolves and ducks leap, prance and crawl on stage. Behind these dancers, colorful screen projections act as a backdrop and illustrate the characters of these dancers.
