Spring break.

When college kids hear those two words the first things that come to their minds are: vacation, alcohol, sun, cruises, wasted, friends, parties, tropical, smoking, relaxing, boys or girls (depending), no school, and fun.

Spring break is a chance for students to throw caution to the wind in order to enjoy a week out of school with friends.

More than two weeks after a HVAC unit burst on the roof of the McKillop Library, intense clean-up efforts made by Salve facilities, housekeeping crews, library staff members, students and a professional disaster management company have helped to save over 200 books and to prevent further damage from mold.

Jazzman’s Reusable Mug campaign is another step toward being green

Two weeks ago Jazzman’s Café and Salve’s environmental committee launched their Reusable Mug campaign. The mugs were suggested as a simple way to be more environmentally conscious around campus as well as to reduce coffee cup garbage.

Dr. Lucille McKillop, RSM, fifth president of Salve Regina and the longest-serving president in university history, died Thursday night in Chicago. Sister Lucille served as president of Salve Regina from 1973 to 1994.
