At its Feb. 12 meeting in the Wakehurst Student Center, the Student Government Association discussed the issue of Facebook and MySpace and how candidates use those websites during campaigns.
During the meeting, there was a motion to remove one of the amendments, which states that “Individual campaign websites [Facebook/myspace] cannot be used for individual campaigning but only to advertise the election itself.When looking for a buried treasure, one might only have to look as far as the Salve Regina University archives, located in Room 304 on the third floor of McKillop library.
Salve’s archivist, Maria Bernier, recently joined the Salve Regina community in September.Times are changing for Campus Ministry. With the addition of Philip Fiadino and Michael Joy to the staff, the structure of the organization has been altered to revolve around prayer, community building and service. This new organization, what Fiadino describes as the three foundations of Campus Ministry, were implemented in a desire to strengthen the focus of the group.
Students and faculty eagerly pull up their sleeves for a blood drive on Feb. 7 and Feb. 8, raising 94 pints to help people in need.
The blood drive was put on by the American Red Cross. Salve Students and faculty exceeded expectations of the goal set by the Red Cross of 35 to 45 pints of blood, by more than doubling that amount with a grand total of 94 pints.
