Every Monday night, millions of fans tune in to Fox’s hit drama series, ’24.’ Always with a heart wrenching plot, ’24’ captivates its fans with the possibility of terrorism on our home front. Amidst the adrenaline of the show, some fans are protesting that Muslims are being exploited as the villains, causing some Muslim groups to remind us that not all of them are terrorists.

Salve Regina University’s department of business studies and economics sponsored “It’s more than a Game: Exploring Opportunities in the Business of Sports”, an event held Friday Feb. 9 in the O’Hare Academic Center in Bazarsky Lecture Hall and was open to all salve students.

NEWPORT, R.I. – On Thursday, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m. Salve Regina’s men’s basketball team played for more than packed stands, they played for the COX Sports Television audience. The game versus Seahawk rival Roger Williams University, which was taped and then aired the following night on CST, is the first time that an athletic event in Salve’s Rodgers Recreation Center has been broadcast on television.

In honor of Black History Month, the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I. is displaying an exhibit called “Breaking the Barriers.” The exhibit will honor the history of African Americans in tennis including Hall of Famers like Arthur Ashe, Althea Gibson and even touches upon influential African Americans playing the game today like Venus and Serena Williams and James Blake.

Time has just expired in the second period of Salve Regina’s Saturday night game against the nation’s 10th ranked team, the R.I.T. Tigers. The Seahawks find themselves down by a score of 5-0. Both of the teams are skating off the ice and heading towards the locker room after a hard fought 20 minutes of hockey.
