Many colleges aim to please their student body by providing guest appearences and special events. While Boston University is hosting a comedy shoe presenting Dennis Leary and the University of Massachusetts is conducting concerts featuring trendy singers like O.

Many of us on Salve’s campus are familiar with Christianity, but few of us know anything about South Asian religions, such as Buddhism. With the visit of His Holiness the Dalai Lama approaching, people may be wondering what background they should know in order to fully appreciate what the Dalai Lama has to say.

On Thursday, Nov. 17, the Dalai Lama will visit Salve to present a lecture titled, “A Human Approach to World Peace,” as well as, visit with longtime friends and supporters Sen. and Mrs. Claiborne Pell.

On Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. the Pell Center for International Relations and Public Policy will host a lecture featuring Brigadier General Russell Howard, USA (Ret.), director of the Jebsen Center for Counterterrorism Studies at the Fletcher School at Tufts University.
