Welcome to Salve Regina University. It is the time of year when we sadly replace our lazy days on the beach with time spent in the library studying. We will trade in our flip flops for Ugg Boots (which are still in style this season) and we will prepare for the upcoming academic year.

ETSUKO: Senior.

ETSUKO: Accounting/Business Administration.

For many of us, traveling to another country symbolizes a luxurious, jet setting lifestyle, but sometimes it can be a very eye-opening experience. After hearing the inspiring convocation address of Fr. Angelo D’Agostino, founder of the first AIDS orphanage in Africa, at last year’s convocation ceremony, members of the Salve community felt compelled to get involved in the AIDS effort in Africa.

Looking for a place with a cool, laid back vibe, where you can read some poetry that you’ve been Working on, grab a cup of tea or coffee and just hang out with friends? Sucha place does exist in Newport. Empire Tea & Coffee, 22 Broadway in Newport, is the type of place where everybody knows your name.

On May 1, 2005 at 5:30 in the Bazarsky Lecture Hall, the 2004-2005 Sports Award Ceremony took place. Eighteen varsity programs were honored in the ceremony, with each team being recognized, various athletes awarded, and a slide show of the year’s athletic events.
