NEW YORK- Nine stories over Central Park on Monday afternoon, the NBA’s tallest player and newest author was folded like an envelope on a hotel-suite sofa, his 7-6, 310-pound body clad in a cream-colored shirt, black slacks and size-18 loafers.

He talked about the famous Chinese coach who said he’d never be a top ballplayer, the kindergarten teacher who feared he was too kind to stop people from taking advantage of him, and the admonition from Del Harris, his Olympic coach in Athens, just before he carried the Chinese flag before a few billion viewers in opening ceremonies.

In this world, there is a difference between the dreamers and the doers. The dreamers want to change the world, but are held back by fear or lack of ambition and their dream hardly turns into a reality. And then there are people like Theresa Sousa-a dreamer of mercy and justice, but most importantly a doer.

The Pell Center will conduct two community town hall events coincid-ing with this year’s presidential debates. Students, faculty, staff, and community members are welcome to watch the debates and consider their impact on the presidential election. Following each debate, Pell Center Director P.

Bart Carithers, Director of Student Activities, presented student Carolina Stillone, a “Caught in the Act Award,” Tuesday evening, at the start of the One World Society meeting.

The “Caught in the Act Award,” is given by Student Activities to students involved in one or more of the 30 recognized clubs at Salve Regina.
