According to the American Breast Cancer Association, approximately 212, 920 women in the nation will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. Does that number seem high? That’s because it is. That’s a lot of women, and the reason that raising breast cancer awareness is so important. Karen de la Motte, a recent addition to Salve Regina’s campus ministry team, has taken strides, along with students and faculty, to raise breast cancer awareness this month by participating in a campus-wide “Think Pink” campaign.
All pink Yoplait yogurt lids are being collected to be sent in and raise money for the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Each lid gives ten cents to this worthy cause. Collection bins can be found at all major food locations on campus, including Miley Cafeteria and Jazzman’s Caf
