There are some stories that go much deeper than the words that appear on a typed page. Stories that strike a cord so deep in each and everyone of us that no matter what combination of letters end up making their way onto the page, it won’t do justice to what was witnessed. Once in a while, observations can’t convey what someone might feel upon leaving an event, a location, even another person.
A combination of those three categories came together on Sunday in the Bazarsky Lecture Hall of Salve Regina University. Members of the James L. Maher Center’s group, “Five Finger Magic,” were slated to perform a nine-song set of classic Christmas songs. The magical, holiday twist? All of the songs were going to be performed in sign language. “Five Finger Magic” has been a holiday tradition since 1989 and celebrated its 16th anniversary over the weekend, reported Salve’s website.
