Bob Langlais first began playing the game of hockey at the young age six when a friend told him how much fun it was.
In his junior and senior years of high school, he helped capture two state championship titles for his high school, Bishop Guertin. Now, 15 years later, he finds himself captain of the Salve men’s ice hockey team in his senior year.
With 50 career goals for the Seahawk’s, Langlais credits his teammates for his enjoyable years here at Salve.
“My teammates and roommates Geno Binda, Matt Porter, Adam Asselin, and Chris Holt will probably be friends for life and I am lucky to have been given the opportunity to play and live with them,” said Langlais.
Langlais’ squad is 6-9-1 overall, with a 3-3-1 record in the CCC. The team faced a hard schedule early in the season facing Colby Sawyer and Manhattanville. Langlais looks forward to a strong finish by the team, however.
Langlais wishes the younger players luck in future years and wishes Coach Chris MacPherson all the best.
“The players that are my age got stuck in a few growing years. The younger players coming up are looking stronger and stronger, said Langlais. “They will definetly be improving in the next few years.”
When asked about his favorite hockey player, Langlais replied,”Growing up I was a huge Wayne Gretzy fan, but with no NHL right now it would hard to pick a favorite.”
