Due to the abundance of rainy weather this season, the Salve women’s soccer team has had a tough year. With only two seniors, Captains Kate Leary and Kendra Lee, the team is very young, but still hold their own in the Commonwealth Conference with a record of 6-6.

This is the first year that the girls have been able to play on campus since the Brother Reynolds Field was redone over this past summer. “It makes it easier for people to come see us play,” said junior caption Lindsay D’Agnelli. “We get more fans at the games now than we did at Fort Adams.”

Having so many new freshmen was hard for the team at first because they all had to learn how to play well together. Now, the girls work so well together on the field because they are all good friends off the field.

On nights before games, they do a team dinner at someone’s house as a way to spend more valuable time together. The team also plays music before games and on bus rides to get them pumped up in preparation for the game they are to play.

Their biggest games have yet to come, though. Home games versus Roger Williams and Endicott are schedule for the end of October and home games versus the U.S Coast Guard and Eastern Nazarene are coming soon. Their only away game left will be at Regis College.
