Students show each other love as they dance the night away.
Late at night on March 5, the ballroom of Ochre Court was filled to the brim with exuberant Salve students. The occasion: the Mardi Gras Dance, an event hosted by the Campus Activities Board as part of the Friday Night Live series. Many of the students’ outfits matched the night’s festive theme. The clothes that students wore were vibrant, luminescent and fun. At the front of the entrance, members of CAB passed out beads and masquerade masks to help students further the mood and theme of Mardi Gras.
Although Ochre Court opened its doors at 9 p.m., the dance did not truly start until 10:30, when the ballroom became packed full of dancing students. Around this time, the Ochre Court ballroom seemed to be transformed into a modern contemporary club scene, with WSRU blasting catchy tunes and disco lights flashing amidst dancing attendees. Almost every single person in the ballroom was smiling, laughing and moving along to the beat, having fun and enjoying time with their dear friends. The exciting night almost seemed as if it would never end. The excitement, dancing and the view of the ocean enabled students to immerse themselves into a fun world and a perfect break from their studies.
