“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours…If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them. ” – Henry David Thoreau
Is one of your biggest dreams to travel? Imagine studying abroad in Italy, Australia, England, and Ireland, the most popular places students will be studying abroad next semester. Salve’s Study Abroad Department is currently offering a spring break trip to Cuba for three credits and summer programs in Rome, Mexico, France, and a new addition, Greece for six credits.
The new summer program in Greece is at the American College of Thessaloniki – which is the capitol of Macedonia and the second largest city in Greece. There are a wide variety of liberal arts classes for students to choose from. Students will earn six credits during this four-week course and the whole program will cost approximately $4,000. The other summer programs in Rome, Mexico, and France are also five weeks long. The American University of Rome offers classes in communications, business, economics, Italian, culture, language, art, and science classes. Both Mexico and France will have a 3-credit culture class and 3-credit language class. The deadline to sign up for these programs will be February 3, 2004.
The three credit spring break trip to Cuba will be led by Dr. Bethune from March 6-March 13. This unique experience will give students the opportunity to meet with families in Cuba to discuss social issues, tour different cities and museums, go to a sugar plantation and organic agricultural cooperative, and much more. The trip will be $3,000 and includes airfare, housing, and some meals. The deadline for the spring break trip is December 15, 2003.
