The women’s lacrosse team is looking forward to another season this year, with senior Selina Rano and junior Cara Dunn leading the pack.

With the season opener fast approaching against UMass Dartmouth, Coach Hillary London hopes for good weather, as not to postpone which they have had to do in past seasons.

The team practices either 6 to 8 AM or 5 to 7 PM each week. Due to the recent weather, the team has only been able to practice outside once. Because of this, it is hard for Coach London to make any predictions about the future of the season in the CCC.

The Seahawks welcome eight new freshmen to the team this year. They include Whitney Bushee, Meagan Broderick, Jillian Galdi, Allison Hiller, Allison Houlihan, Caitlin Kosow, Jillian Lee, and Denise Mitrano.

Other team members include Erika Dick, defenders Erinn Gloster, Jennifer Haviland, and Christine Higgins, attackers Selina Rano and Ashleigh Cox, and midfielders Nicole Marcorelle, Cara Dunn, and Jessica Breslin. The goalie is Brook Bowley.

When asked what she expected to see from the freshmen, Coach London said, “As for expectations from freshmen, I expect the same from all my players regardless of their year. I expect them to respect one another, to give more than they get, and to pick the challenging opportunity rather than the one that may produce an easy success. There is a difference between working hard and thinking that you are. If they know the difference, then the right choice is easy.”
